Innovation is not easy, but it is vital. Businesses must be prepared to continually innovate and update their processes, in order to survive. At CPI, we believe that innovation requires a strong, collaborative network with a range of partners, often from different disciplines and industries. With this in mind, we offer a range of project management services which include project co-ordination, commercialisation and dissemination.
Project Proposals
At CPI, we have the integrated technical and managerial experience to work closely with businesses and universities to formulate and prepare business cases for R&D projects. We can also support you in the development and submission of proposals to help secure government funds for collaborative R&D activities, including funds from:
- EU Framework Programme FP6/7
- DTI R&D Capital and Collaborative Calls
- UK Department for Transport
- UK Research Councils
- CASE Awards
- Proof of Concept funds from NStar
- Capital investment from One NorthEast
Project and Programme Management
Once the project funds have been secured, CPI can provide project management services in three key areas:
- Project Co-Ordination
- Commercialisation
- Dissemination
Project Co-ordination
CPI can work with you to manage the day-to-day activities of R&D projects to enable you to focus more on the strategic goals of the project. The CPI project management team will be able to help with project planning, tracking and control, risk management, knowledge protection, finance management, subcontractor management, project reviews and status reporting, and maintaining traction and direction
Commercialisation
CPI can work with you to identify new business opportunities, clients and applications for technology or solutions being innovated through market assessment, dissemination and appropriate networking channels to further extend the value of the project and the knowledge it will generate
Dissemination
CPI can provide services for the dissemination of project information - a growing requirement for projects funded through Framework Programme Six or UK DTI Collaborative R&D projects. These include activities such as conference presentations, project publications and news articles
Project and Team Collaboration Tools
CPI are has established a secure online collaboration server for projects to better connect geographically dispersed teams engaged in knowledge creation and transfer activities. This online collaboration tool is available to clients and partners for selected project.
CPI are also supporting the UK Department of Trade & Industry (DTI), to establish a collaboration server for the wider UK R&D community.
