The National Graphene Association is aiding the interaction between graphene stakeholders to foster the commercialization of graphene through innovative “pitch sessions” at its forthcoming conference to be held in October in Austin, Texas.
For instance, at the Graphene Product Showcase, a graphene company or research lab could display a prototype to describe their success stories or seek funding or partnership from the audience. At the same time, for individuals or companies that are not directly involved in the graphene sector and might be thinking of using or incorporating graphene in an already existing product, the Graphene Idea Showcases offer the opportunity to speak to the entire audience of graphene experts and stakeholders and solicit the audience for input, insight, or a graphene supplier during a five-minute pitch.
This is a great opportunity for anyone in the graphene development curve, to get on the stage for five minutes, tell their story and look for an answer to their needs. We want researchers to find paths to market for their innovations. We aim to help companies find their next round of funding and investment or find the right graphene supplier or graphene consumer. We also want to make it easier for anyone not in the graphene field who could be a potential end-user to find the path to integrate graphene, and there is no better way to do this than getting people together and get them talking to each other. That is the idea behind the graphene pitches.
Dr. Zina Jarrahi Cinker, Executive Director of the NGA and a Fundamental Physicist in the Graphene Field.
Apart from the three pitch sessions, the conference will be attended by top thought leaders in the graphene industry and will feature three days of panel discussions, plenary talks, and interaction with exhibitors. The targeted roundtable format and customized networking opportunities will enable those in attendance to acquire crucial market information and analysis from leaders in the field and form strategic collaborations.
The Global Graphene Expo & Conference will be conducted at the AT&T Center in Austin on October 15-17th, 2018. It is NGA’s second annual event dedicated exclusively to the commercialization of graphene in the U.S.
Pitch Applications Being Accepted Now
NGA staff will review applications and selected pitches will be informed by September 15.
NOTE: NGA members’ submissions will be automatically eligible for the pitch sessions
Product Showase
Product ShowCase is a 5-minute pitch opportunity designed for individuals, companies or academic laboratories who possess a graphene-based prototype or product (such as a medical device, sensor, battery, coating, apparel etc.) that they wish to display to the entire audience of both current and future graphene stakeholders such as graphene companies, investors, developers and suppliers, government agencies, venture capitalists, and academic and research labs.
Idea Showcase
Idea ShowCase is a 5-minute pitch opportunity intended for individuals or companies at the “idea stage,” who are seeking to integrate graphene in either an already existing product or in a completely new structure. The selected groups will be offered the opportunity to present to the entire audience of stakeholders - graphene companies, investors, developers and suppliers, research and academic labs, government agencies, and venture capitalists, with the objective of soliciting collaboration and partnership for the project.
