Pioneer Surgical Technology, Inc., a leading innovator in the design and manufacture of spinal and orthopaedic implants, instruments and biologic products, today announced that it has won the prestigious Frost + Sullivan 2009 North American Technology Innovation of the Year Award for the E-Matrix(TM) Tissue Scaffold, recently launched in the United States.
The patented E-Matrix technology provides a bioscaffold for leading edge biologic products in orthopaedics and other therapeutic areas. Pioneer's CEO and President, Jeff Millin, noted, "This award reflects Pioneer's commitment to deliver on innovation that benefits patients and surgeons, and is cost-effective for the healthcare system." E-Matrix is the result of over ten years of dedicated research and development.
Ronald S. Hill, PhD, Vice President of Research and Development, says, "Frost & Sullivan is world renowned for technology analysis and after an exhaustive review of products in this therapeutic category, Pioneer has been recognized for the significance and potential of this innovative technology to become the market leader."
Pioneer continues to focus on commercializing these novel technologies and recently launched a bone graft substitute to the US orthopaedic market utilizing the E-Matrix(TM) bioscaffold combined with nanOss(TM), a proprietary nano-crystalline hydroxyapatite.
