The NanoBusiness Alliance, the world's leading nanotechnology trade association, today announced that it will convene approximately 75 nanotechnology industry executives in Washington, D.C. from March 17 - 19 for its 8th annual Public Policy Tour. As in past years, NanoBusiness Alliance members will participate in two days of high-level meetings with Members of Congress, Administration officials, and key staff.
Executives will interact with the decision makers who set policies that regulate nanotechnology, influence access to venture capital, and otherwise affect nanotechnology companies' bottom lines. This year's tour will also provide companies with opportunities to showcase their products to Members of Congress and staff on Capitol Hill.
“This is a pivotal time for nanotechnology in our nation’s capitol,” said Sean Murdock, Executive Chairman, NanoBusiness Alliance. “While we applaud the recent passage of the National Nanotechnology Initiative Amendments Act of 2009 in the House, it’s imperative that the bill also pass in the Senate and be signed by the President, to ensure that our nation capitalizes on the promise of nanotechnology to improve our environment, health and the economy.”
“Having participated in all of the Public Policy tours conducted by the NanoBusiness Alliance, it’s been gratifying to see the increased awareness on the part of government leaders in regard to the importance nanotechnology plays in our nation’s future,” added Vincent Caprio, Vice President and Event Director, NanoBusiness Alliance. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to once again return to Capitol Hill to continue this critical dialog.”
