Apache Design Solutions, the technology leader in power and noise integrity for chip, package, and system convergence, today announced the collaboration with NXP Semiconductors on advanced power solutions for the PNX85500 design - the industry's first digital TV processor manufactured on the 45nm technology.
NXP used Apache’s RedHawk power integrity, Sentinel chip power modeling (CPM), and package extraction early in the design flow. By doing this, NXP was able to optimize the power network and I/O pads, so helping to eliminate disruptive late changes to the floorplan, leading to the achievement of a best-in-class design time for the PNX85500. NXP also used RedHawk’s Vectorless Dynamic and decoupling capacitance analysis for accurate power integrity signoff.
“As a leader in advanced digital products for high volume consumer market, our designs need to be First-Time-Right, while controlling the production cost,” said René Penning de Vries, senior vice president and chief technology officer from NXP. “We leveraged Apache’s product maturity, proactive worldwide support, and domain expertise to mitigate design risk and improve overall product quality.”
“We are excited to work with NXP to address the critical power integrity needs of their 45nm designs,” said Andrew Yang, CEO of Apache. “We look forward to further our collaboration on global power and noise integrity challenges for chip, package, and system.”
