The Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC) and the Venezuelan Science Ministry's Center for Science and Technology Research signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on co-operation in the field of nanotechnology. Based on the MoU, these organizations will participate in student exchanges and research in the field of nanotechnology.
A Venezuelan delegation, comprising Guillermo Barrerto, CEO of Science and Technology Center at Venezuelan Ministry of Science, and Roben Machado, head of Iowik Research Center (a Venezuelan Ministry of Science affiliate) and other officials, visited the third Iran Nanotechnology Festival (October 25 to 29), where they were given an update on Iran's achievements in the field of nanotechnology.
"We travelled to Iran to visit this festival and sign MoUs of cooperation within the scope of nanotechnology study affairs because Venezuela is at the preliminary stages in nanotechnology and the researches of Iranian experts could be useful in helping Venezuela to develop nanotechnology", Barrerto said.
Speaking highly of the scientific expertise witnessed at the festival, the head of the Venezuelan Science and Technology Centre, revealed that he recently met with Iranian Ministry of Science's authorities for joint scientific development and research cooperation between the two countries, specifically in the field of nanotechnology.
Expressing hope that the Venezuelan Science Ministry would hold a similar festival in his country, he said, "Iran has been able to take great steps towards the development and sustainability. Holding such a festival at this level of capability implies this country's focus on its domestic knowledge and potential."
