KIT will unveil a hybrid Porsche racing car at the 2011 Hannover Messe being held from April 4 to 8, 2011. It will also introduce latest advancements in materials, battery research and processes that will be applicable in printable electronics.
The company will also display the Energy Solution Center (EnSoC) competence network and the KIC InnoEnergy developed for a European energy supply system.
The Hybrid has a temporary, part-electric four-wheel drive. The drive trains communicate through a systems control unit and a hybrid monitor utilizing control algorithms. The energy efficiency reduces the refueling stops the vehicle needs to make.
The team will develop a battery featuring high storage capacity. Specifically, the team will focus on characterization, synthesis and functionalization of nanoscale materials, in addition to configuration and application of the technology. The team will synthesize printable inorganic and organic materials to develop printing inks. It will also develop organic solar cells, LEDs, besides industrial coating and drying processes.
