Nordson MARCH and Semblant have announced their partnership to develop plasma systems for electronics deposition.
Semblant will collaborate with Nordson MARCH to develop plasma systems for material deposition applicable in the electronics sector. The systems will offer mass production utilizing substances from the Semblant Technology products applicable in PCB final surface finish and coating.
The disruptive and eco-friendly nano-coating technology from Semblant features solder-through, resistance to corrosion and tunable surface energy. The joint venture will develop a system that will deposit the coating in the form of a printed circuit board surface finish. The system is based on the ProVIA platform from Nordson.
Steven Lowder, chief executive officer of Semblant, said that the collaboration will help his company offer the electronics industry efficient and environment-friendly plasma deposition solutions.
Peter Bierhuis, president of Nordson MARCH, announced that his company’s plasma solutions are suitable for de-smear and etching applications.
