Nancorp Shifts Part of its Research Laboratories to Samuel Maron Research Facility

Nancorp has moved some of its research laboratories to the Samuel Maron Research Facility.

Nancorp would continue new research and development activities from the new facility. Patrick Conway, the CEO of Nancorp, explained that the shifting would help in enriching Nancorp’s technical expertise and would facilitate faster development of monolayer based products. He backed the choice of the location by stating that Quebec provided a winning combination of excellent technical resources, attractive investment options and highly skilled labour pool.

The Samuel Maron facility was commissioned in May 2009; since then it has earned the reputation of being the leading location for R&D activities in nanoscience and nanotechnology in the Province of Quebec. The facility provides for research of fundamental and applied nanotechnology and also offers training facilities for graduate and postgraduate students. It also contains scientific equipment worth about 20 million. Financial aid was provided by two major grants that were allotted for projects related to nanotechnology research.

According to Dr. Gilles Picard, the VP of Nanocorp, the Samuel Maron facility provides an opportunity for interacting with some leading nanotechnology researchers in North America in addition to providing access to its facilities.
