NanoCareer Day was hosted by the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) of the University of Albany on 25th May 2011 at the Nanotech Complex.
Around 300 students from high, middle and elementary schools participated in the event. At the event, students gained exposure to manyinteresting topics in nanotechnology. The intent of celebrating NanoCareer day was to help students gear up for a career in nanotechnology and to kindle their interest in other areas such as engineering, mathematics, science and technology.
The teaching faculty from CNSE gave a number of presentations on various topics such as emerging trends in nanotechnology and career prospects and also provided hands-on demonstrations on the applications of nanotechnology research. The students were toured around the Albany Nanotech Complex, which is a sophisticated megaplex worth seven billion dollars.
Some of the schools that participated in the NanoCareer day were Queensbury High School, Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES, Berlin Central School District, Farnsworth Middle School and Guilderland Central School District.
