Research and Markets has added a new report titled "Nanotechnology Applications for Clean Water Solutions for Improving Water Quality" to their offering.
According to the World Health Organization, around 1.1 billion people did not have proper access to potable water and 35% of residents belonging to third world countries faced death due to water-borne diseases back in 2004. It has been estimated that the current water quality issues can be solved using nanotechnology.
The report outlines both the opportunities and difficulties to positively impact the area of environmental protection using nanotechnology. The book includes topics such as the use of nanotechnology for potable water in point-of-use systems and in large scale water treatment plants. For example, it has been proved that with recent advancements many of the existing water problems related to water quality can be solved using nanocatalysts, nanosorbents, nanostructured catalytic membranes, bioactive nanoparticles, and nanoparticle enhanced filtration.
The book also describes about the technologies that exist and growth opportunities for pollution prevention, groundwater remediation and sensors. Nanotechnology is already showing tremendous development in various fields, and this book shares information about existing technologies and future plans in achieving this goal.
