Bruker introduced the SCION SQ single quadrupole and the SCION TQ triple quadrupole mass spectrometers at the 2011 Florida Pesticide Residue Workshop. These mass spectrometers are suitable for gas chromatography applications and are aimed at improving productivity and data quality.
The SCION GC-MS platform delivers ease of use and exceptional efficiency, especially to monitor environments and ensure food safety.
The SCION series implements ion ‘lens-free’ technology to enable ease of use. The SCION series is more strong and responsive than previous GC-MS devices. It is more compact than that offered by traditional GC-triple quadrupole MS systems.
The latest axial source design integrated with the ‘lens-free’ ion path improves the overall durability of the SCION series. The SCION TQ also features a 180º collision cell design to achieve a compact design.
The performance of the SCION TQ is improved further using Bruker’s Compound Based Scanning (CBS) technology. The CBS technology enables users to reach quantitative accuracy and high-sensitivity while lowering installation time of devices. The CBS technology and superior software optimizes the MRM transmissions and determines the optimal cycle time, within limited duration for the developer.
The SCION SQ can be used for extensive routine usage and incorporates a plug-and-play source for converting easily from EI to CI and low maintenance. The axial flow source enhances performance of system and lowers maintenance time even while handling tough matrices.
Users can achieve field-upgrade to CI ability using these SCION systems. It utilizes a turbo molecular pump of high-capacity and helium molecules to improve transmission into the quadrupole. Other benefits include rapid pump-down time, which improves productivity and lowers down-time.
