Cerion Energy has selected ECOsuperyacht, a provider of energy efficacy and emission management services to the superyacht industry, as its European distributor for GO2, a novel nanoparticle-based combustion catalyst for diesel fuel.
GO2 decreases fuel usage by 8% to 13%, while significantly decreasing unsafe soot and emissions. The nanoparticles function as an oxygen carrier, which supplies and redistributes oxygen during combustion in the engine chamber. GO2 also speeds up the combustion rate due the catalytic properties of the nanoparticles, resulting in a quicker, intense and complete burn that needs minimum fuel to obtain the same engine output.
The nanoparticle-based combustion catalyst has been evaluated for several hours in numerous applications. The US commercial railroad and marine industries are already using the catalyst. ECOsuperyacht, which will import and supply GO2 across Europe, is for the first time distributing the product to the yachting market.
ECOsuperyacht’s Managing Director, Richard Franklin stated that increasing fuel prices and global demand for eco-friendly marine operations force yacht managers and owners to find possibilities to eliminate soot issues, decrease carbon foot print of their yachts and decrease their fuel bills. GO2 is the ideal product to address all these issues and the company will recommend it to its customers, he added.
Cerion Energy’s Vice President of Yachting Business Development, Bruce Brown commented that ECOsuperyacht’s strong rapport with the European yachting industry and its expertise in offering sustainable solutions for yachts make it a perfect partner for Cerion Energy.
