The Lehigh Nanotech Network and A.J. Drexel Nanotechnology Institute will host the fourth Nano for Business 2012 conference from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on May 23, 2012 on Lehigh University's Mountaintop Campus in Bethlehem, PA.
The Nano for Business conference explores nanotechnology trends, current and evolving applications, workforce development, and partnering opportunities between academia and industry. This event will provide an interactive forum for business leaders to learn how nanotechnology can positively impact technology and product development, and commercialization of new ideas. Speakers and panels from industry, government and academia will cover topics including regional business examples, environmental and energy applications, university innovations and resources, funding and other support available to technology businesses, and education and outreach. A reception featuring sponsor exhibits, student posters, and tours of Lehigh laboratory facilities will follow the program.
Nanotechnology involves science and engineering at the molecular and atomic scale, with applications in areas such as life sciences, electronics and energy. In 2010, the NSF and the National Nanotechnology Institute projected that the nanotechnology products market would be $400-1,000 billion by 2015, and $1-3 trillion by 2020. The Lehigh Nanotech Network, managed by the Center for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology at Lehigh University, aims to broaden access to regional nanotechnology expertise and facilities and to encourage business/education collaborations and partnerships. The A.J. Drexel Nanotechnology Institute (DNI) coordinates Drexel University's interdisciplinary research, education, outreach and strategic partnerships in the area of nanotechnology.
The conference location is Wood Dining Room, Iacocca Hall, 111 Research Drive, Mountaintop Campus, Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pa., 18015. Directions can be found at http://is.gd/itZAsC. Register or become a Sponsor by calling (610) 570-6898, or online at http://is.gd/US0mbP.
