The Paris-Est Créteil University in France hosted the Conference on Multiphase Polymers and Polymer Composites Systems: Macro to Nano Scales on June 7-10, 2011.
The conference is a tribute to the numerous research achievements in the field of interfacial and physical characteristics of nanocomposites and multiphase polymer composite systems. The conference falls under the ambit of the COST action MP0701 on nanocomposites and polymers.
The focus of the conference was on the different nanocomposites scales of length ranging from nano and micro to macro which are deemed significant in gaining insight into the relationship between structure and property for nanocomposites materials. The topics discussed in the conference touched upon major discoveries and observations in the areas of interfacial, thermophysical, physical and morphological properties of polymer composites and multiphase polymer systems across different scales of length.
The conference was classified into three broad areas of focus, namely, multiscale modeling and simulation, design and advanced characterization and processing, application and recycling. At the conference, a total of 160 presentations were given and this includes both oral and poster presentations. All the presentations were subject to peer review. Amongst those, a few were selected to be published in the Materials Science Forum.
