Tekna has entered into an Agreement with Sigma-Aldrich Corporation (SIAL, NASDAQ).
The terms of the Agreement enable Sigma-Aldrich to distribute sample size quantities of Tekna's famous Boron Nitride NanoTubes (BNNTs), copper nanoparticles and silicon nanoparticles throughout Sigma-Aldrich's worldwide sales and distribution network.
Our company is very proud to have developed a partnership with Sigma-Aldrich. Thanks to this Agreement, our nanoparticles will be readily available to the worldwide scientific community conducting research in these fields.
Tekna will continue to commercialize industrial quantities of these nanoparticles to its existing and growing customer base, but for small samples, our partnership with Sigma-Aldrich is expected to improve the distribution and visibility of these amazing materials to the scientific community.

About BNNTs
BNNTs are an extraordinary material with unique properties that will revolutionize engineered materials in a wide range of applications including the defense and security, aerospace, biomedical and automotive sectors. Boron nitride nanotubes have a structure very similar to the better known carbon nanotubes. They share the extraordinary mechanical properties of carbon nanotubes, but have the added advantages of optical and infrared transparency, superior thermal and chemical stability, neutron shielding, electrical insulation, and even the ability to generate electrical current when subjected to mechanical stress (piezoelectricity).
About Copper nanoparticles
This material has a low oxygen content and is well suited for various applications such as conductive inks and pastes for flexible electronic applications, as well as biomedical applications.
About Silicon nanoparticles
This material has a low oxygen content and is well-suited for incorporation in anodes of Li-ion batteries and other applications.
