HORIBA Scientific, global leader in X-ray Fluorescence analysis, announces enhancements to the software in its MESA-50 Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence Analyzer.
HORIBA X-RAY Lab is the new software in our MESA-50 EDXRF analyzer. MESA-50 was designed for businesses needing to screen samples containing harmful elements, such as lead, cadmium, chromium, mercury, bromine for RoHS, End of Life compliance, and chlorine for halogen-free As and Sb applications. The new software offers a flexible layout enabling users to prioritize what windows they want to use, and it allows them to analyze one set of results while performing measurements on another.
For RoHS and ELV measurements, the ‘Auto Material Identification’ function is designed to ‘pre-measure’ a sample in 10 seconds, and then it will classify the sample, select a suitable measurement condition, and set parameters for each matrix. The operator does not need to make these decisions.
The ‘Automatic Judgement and Measurement Termination’ function determines whether the sample is OK or Not Good (NG), based on the concentration of harmful elements in the sample are above or below the threshold values. MESA-50 stops automatically when that decision is reached. This shortens the measurement times and enables more efficient screening analysis.
The new software for the MESA-50 was designed to be easy and accurate for any operator. As it measures samples in such a short an amount of time, the MESA-50 is now, more than ever, the perfect instrument for lab-based and field-based elemental analyses.
