VeruTEK Technologies, Inc. and QuantumSphere, Inc. announced today that the companies have formed a strategic partnership to develop new environmental remediation solutions. Under the terms of the agreement, VeruTEK will utilize QSI's high-performance nano catalysts and its own natural surfactants to develop a new family of Coelution Technologies capable of cleaning up specific contaminants in soil and groundwater. QSI will supply testing materials and nanomaterials expertise to facilitate development of these remedial applications.
This partnership enables VeruTEK to extend its product line and ability to remediate hazardous sites plagued with specific types of organic contaminants. According to the EPA there are hundreds of thousands of contaminated sites in the U.S. alone. QSI gains the opportunity to utilize its nano catalysts in an emerging multi-billion dollar "in situ" environmental remediation market. Additionally, QSI will promote to its customers the newly developed Coelution Technologies for remediation applications utilizing QSI- Nano® catalysts.
"The quality of QuantumSphere's nano catalysts is unmatched in the marketplace," said Dr. John Collins, CEO for VeruTEK. "They provide the ideal match for our proprietary green surfactants and we are excited about the potential for these new solutions and the ability they will give us to target and clean up specific types of contaminants and sites."
"VeruTEK's advanced technology is redefining the remediation market with existing and 'next-generation' nano-enabled solutions. We look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership that allows both companies to further penetrate additional markets with large potential," said Kevin D. Maloney, president and chief executive officer of QuantumSphere.
