Precision Wavelength Control with Compact Halogen Light Source

The AvaLight-HAL-S-Mini is designed to perform optimally across the visible to near-infrared spectrum. This compact, stabilized halogen light source allows for precise focus adjustment of the fiber connection, enhancing power output at specific wavelengths. It also features adjustable electrical power settings, enabling you to either increase power or extend the bulb's lifespan.

Equipped with a filter slot on its front, the AvaLight-HAL-S-Mini accommodates either 1" round or 2"x2" square filters, allowing you to block certain wavelength ranges or reduce intensity as needed.

The adjustable focus ensures maximum light transmission through the optical fiber. Replacing the bulb is straightforward and can be completed quickly.

An optional combined cuvette holder and attenuator (model CUV-ATT-DA-HAL) is available, along with in-line options such as the filter holder (FH-INLINE) or the attenuator (ATT-INL) for further light modulation.

The optical output can be adjusted using a dongle located on the rear of the device or directly through your spectrometer. At its lowest setting, the light bulb offers a color temperature of 2647 K, which significantly extends its lifespan. When set to the standard or medium mode, the color temperature shifts to 2759 K, delivering approximately 30 % more power with a bulb life of 2000 hours. In high-power mode, the color temperature increases to 2879 K, providing about 70 % more power compared to the long-life mode, though this comes with a shorter bulb lifespan.

The AvaLight-HAL-S-Mini includes an internal TTL shutter, which can be controlled via your AvaSpec spectrometer. This allows the user to utilize the automatic dark save feature in the AvaSoft spectroscopy software.
