Newly Formed Company to Commercialize Human 'Organs-on-Chips' Technology

The Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University today announced that its human 'Organs-on-Chips' technology will be commercialized by a newly formed private company to accelerate development of pharmaceutical, chemical, cosmetic, and personalized medicine products.

STMicroelectronics Establishes New MEMS Microphone Lab in Taiwan

Marcy Nanocenter Site Receives Wet Lands Permit from Army Corps of Engineers

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has issued a Section 404 permit for the Marcy Nanocenter site, enabling the next phase of the Nano Utica initiative. This includes the construction of a 450 MM enabled wafer fabrication campus and significant local job creation that will further solidify New York’s global position as a leader in semiconductor manufacturing and nanotechnology.

New York State Partners in Launch of NY Power Electronics Manufacturing Consortium

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that the State will partner with over 100 private companies, led by SEMATECH and IBM, to launch the New York Power Electronics Manufacturing Consortium. The Consortium will invest over $500 million and create thousands of high-skilled, high-paying jobs in Upstate New York over the next five years – including at least 500 in Rochester– focusing on the development and manufacture of the next generation of materials used on semiconductors.
