The 5th Nano Awards Festival ceremony held at Tehran Permanent International Fairground on Saturday awarded the best researchers, firms, research centers, laboratories and technologies active in the field of nanotechnology.
In addition to the prominent figures in the field of nanotechnology, Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Nasrin Soltankhah and Iranian President's Chief of Staff Esfandiar Rahim Mashae'i took part in the ceremony too.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Head of Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC) Saeed Sarkar who was also the secretary of the Festival pointed to the cheerful atmosphere of this year's festival, and said, "We observed the feeling of hope for the future in this event."
Pointing to the extended presence of the investors in this festival, Dr Sarkar added, "The participation of industries and the investors who look for ideas for investment draws a bright future for our country in this field of technology."
Dr Rezayat, the Manager of Nanotechnology Human Resources Workgroup, was the next lecturer. He pointed out that the festival was welcomed warmly by the visitors, and added, "About 14,000 people visited this year's exhibition on the first four days. More than half of the visitors are nanotechnology experts."
He emphasized that there are 6,000 nanotechnology experts in the country, and continued, "Evaluation and selection of the bests are among the important issues of Nanotechnology Prospect Strategy."
During the ceremony, the best researchers, firms, research centers, laboratories, and technologies were also awarded. In addition, Dr Marco Polini from Scuola Normale Superior was awarded as the best foreign researcher.
