Bettersize Instruments’ Bettersizer 2600 measures particle size using either wet or dry methods. Thanks to its patented technologies and modular design, this versatile, powerful analyzer can be used in a wide range of applications. Users can easily and accurately characterize materials in the 0.02 μm to 2600 μm range.
Advantages of the Bettersizer 2600
Technology
The Bettersizer 2600 particle size analyzer utilizes the latest advances in laser diffraction.
Flexibility
The analyzer works within a wide particle size range: 0.02 μm to 2600 μm in wet dispersion and 0.1 μm to 2600 μm in dry dispersion. Wet and dry particle sizing can be utilized with a wide range of dispersing particle systems.
Precision
A novel patented technology that utilizes Fourier and Inversed Fourier optical systems achieves the precise measurement of both small and large particles over the broadest possible range.
Wide Optical Range
The instrument features an optical bench with 92 detectors allowing coverage of an angular range of 0.016 ° to 165 ° with optional wet and dry dispersion.
Small Testing Volumes
The Bettersizer 2600 features a small-volume dry dispersing module. This is ideal for use with small sample quantities, such as pharmaceuticals or other high-cost samples.
More Accurate Parameters
Measurement of a sample’s refractive index represents a more accurate parameter for calculating the results.
Ease of Use
The user-friendly software is easy to learn, so creating, implementing, and using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new materials is straightforward and simple. Changing dispersing modules is also easy and fast.

Features of the Bettersizer 2600
Fourier and Inverse Fourier Optical System
The Bettersizer 2600 offers a superior combination of Fourier and inverse Fourier designs. Its advanced design specifications enable the detection of scattered light in a very wide angular range from 0.016 ° to 165 °.
Unlike the inverse Fourier design, particles do not have to lie on a single plane. As a result, accurate measurement of small and large particles can be achieved simultaneously.
Features of the combination of Fourier and inverse Fourier design include:
- A super-large Fourier lens
- A compact, space-saving design
- A 92-piece spherical detector array with lateral, forward, and backward detectors

- An intuitive user interface that allows for straightforward operation
- An automatic time-saving cleaning routine
- A real-time PSD curve for determining optimum measurement conditions
- Fully automatic measurement routines
- Automatic data backup
- Highly customizable reports
- Direct conversion capabilities utilizing Mie and Fraunhofer evaluation models
- The ability to switch between wet and dry dispersion modules with the single click of a button
Wet Dispersion
The Bettersizer 2600 BT-802 is designed for particle size measurement using water as the medium.
