BeVision S1 - Static Image Analyzer

Bettersize Instruments’ BeVision S1 static image analyzer offers an innovative combination of light microscopy and image analysis. This instrument intuitively provides accurate shape and size distributions of either suspensions or powders.

With an objective magnification of up to 100x, the BeVision S1 efficiently records and analyzes particles as small as 1 μm in size.

The BeVision S1 static image analyzer offers a budget-friendly option for particle analysis and a range of features and benefits, including:

  • A wide measurement range of 1 µm to 3000 µm
  • Twenty-four particle shape and size parameters
  • The capacity for both wet and dry measurement readings
  • Models suitable for a range of applications
  • Powerful software that reduces user workload
  • Results that comply with ISO 9276-6
  • Customizable reports for different evaluation requirements

Benefits of the Image Analysis Method

Each step of the image analysis process is easy to follow, from the capturing and identification of a particle, through to measuring their shape and size.

Image analysis can summarize results as a statistic that accurately provides distribution data based on particle size or shape.

Static Image Analysis

Static image analyzers incorporate precision microscopes and high-resolution cameras designed to obtain high-quality particle images.

Due to its sensitivity, it is possible to produce an estimate of the size of undersized particles using the static image analysis method.

Only a small sample volume - for example, a few micrograms of powder or a few drops of emulsion - is necessary to carry out a static image analysis.

Size Parameters

Several size parameters can be accommodated, including:

  • Equivalent diameters; for example, perimeter-equivalent diameter or area-equivalent diameter
  • Legendre ellipse; for example, minor and major axes
  • Feret diameters; for example, maximum and minimum Feret diameters, XLF (“length”)
  • Martin diameters; for example, minimum and maximum Martin diameters

Shape Parameters

A number of shape parameters can be accommodated, including:

  • Size difference in two directions: for example, ellipse ratio, aspect ratio, L/W ratio
  • Elongated particle characteristics; for example, elongation, straightness
  • Contour concavity; for example, concavity, convexity, solidity
  • Round-likeness and rectangle-likeness; for example, circularity, compactness, irregularity, extent, and box ratio
