Discovery 'Proof of Principle' of the Existence of 'Spin Battery'

Researchers at the University of Miami and at the Universities of Tokyo and Tohoku, Japan, have been able to prove the existence of a "spin battery," a battery that is "charged" by applying a large magnetic field to nano-magnets in a device called a magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ).

AIXTRON Receives Order for MOCVD Tool from National Taiwan University

AIXTRON AG today announced that in the fourth quarter 2008 the National Taiwan University (NTU), based in Taipei City, Taiwan, ordered one Close Coupled Showerhead 3x2" wafer Research Platform MOCVD system. It will be used for research and development on GaN and related materials and devices and it will be delivered in the third quarter 2009.
