MassCEC Awards SiEnergy $300,000 Grant to Develop Thin Film Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Technology for Portable Power Generation

SiEnergy Systems, LLC, which is commercializing low temperature thin film solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) technology from Harvard University, is pleased to announce that it was awarded a $300,000 grant from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) under their AmplifyMass program.

Electron Spin of Molecular Oxygen Strongly Affects Rate of Surface Oxidation

Mitsunori Kurahashi, a Chief Researcher of the Nano Characterization Unit (Unit Director: Daisuke Fujita), National Institute for Materials Science (President: Sukekatsu Ushioda) and Yasushi Yamauchi, a Group Leader in the same unit, presented the first spin-controlled O2 adsorption experiment indicating that the rate of surface oxidation is strongly affected by the electron spin of O2.
