Etched Nano-Size Teeth Make Mobile Display Surfaces Anti-Reflective

If you've ever tried to watch a video on a tablet on a sunny day, you know you have to tilt it at just the right angle to get rid of glare or invest in a special filter. But now scientists are reporting in the journal ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces that they've developed a novel glass surface that reduces both glare and reflection, which continue to plague even the best mobile displays today.

New York State Partners in Launch of NY Power Electronics Manufacturing Consortium

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that the State will partner with over 100 private companies, led by SEMATECH and IBM, to launch the New York Power Electronics Manufacturing Consortium. The Consortium will invest over $500 million and create thousands of high-skilled, high-paying jobs in Upstate New York over the next five years – including at least 500 in Rochester– focusing on the development and manufacture of the next generation of materials used on semiconductors.
