ReVolt Technology, Ltd, a technology company, which has developed a rechargeable zinc-air battery, today announced the expansion of its technical leadership team with the addition of semiconductor and battery industry veterans Mr. Jim McLean and Mr. Paul Tang. Jim McLean joined ReVolt as Director of Engineering and Paul Tang has recently joined ReVolt as Manager of Technology Integration.
Jim McLean has over 22 years of experience at Intel in leadership roles in engineering, process engineering and engineering management. During his tenure, Mr. McLean has led teams that insured mission critical functionality of certain process controls required for the scaling of wafer Fab operations. His experience and skill sets are directly transferable to ReVolt’s electrode development and scaling requirements. Mr. McLean will develop core competencies within ReVolt for the implementation of scalable and transferable processes necessary to produce ReVolt Technology energy storage solutions. Mr. McLean has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering from Oregon State University and an MBA from the University of Portland. Mr. McLean was also an operations and engineering officer in the US Navy before starting his career at Intel.
Paul Tang has over 21 years of experience at Energizer where he held several leadership positions in quality management and technology development of zinc-air battery systems. Additionally, Mr. Tang has been a consultant and professor, led cross-functional teams and technology development efforts for Energizer and clients in the battery and fuel cell markets. Mr. Tang has an M.S. in Chem. Eng. and a PhD in Electrochemical Eng. from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (SFIT); and, an MBA from Baldwin Wallace College.
Both Mr. McLean and Mr. Tang bring shared skills in leading cross-functional and cross-cultural teams and have prepared many facilities and processes to meet ISO standards.
“The addition of Jim’s and Paul’s leadership and experience is very welcome at this stage of the company’s development,” stated Adam Laubach, CTO of ReVolt Technology. “Their extensive industry experience combined with their innate leadership and technical skills will help accelerate ReVolt from the lab to fab.”
ReVolt Technology Ltd. is a technology company, which has developed a rechargeable zinc-air battery. ReVolt’s batteries may enable more high-power consumer devices and increase the lifetime of existing consumer devices significantly. The technology is a result of six years of intense research and development at SINTEF (the largest independent research institute in Scandinavia). Research on material combinations has solved issues historically related to the metal-air technology; power, lifetime and rechargeability.
