Double-walled Carbon Nanotubes (DWCNTs) are composed of two concentric single-walled carbon nanotubes with unique optical and electronic properties. DWCNTs allow for the convalent functionalization of the outer-wall, allowing control over the solubility, while maintaining the properties of the outer-wall.1 Applications of DWCNTs include solar cells2 and field effect transistors.
