Nano-Tex Named 2003 Nanotechnology Company of The Year - News Item

Smalltimes magazine has named textiles company Nano-Tex the 2003 Company of the Year. North Carolina-based Nano-Tex nanotechnology enhanced textiles that are stain-proof, wrinkle-free, absorbent, more comfortable and odour-free.

International brands using fabrics from Nano-Tex include Levi’s, Lee, Tommy Hilfiger, DKNY and Benetton.

Other finalists included:

  • BEI Technologies Inc., manufacturer of MEMS gyros and sensors
  • FormFactor Inc., which makes wafer probe cards to test memory, microprocessors and other semiconductor devices
  • NanoOpto Corp., developer of nanoimprinting technology for telecoms
  • Obducat AB, Swedish nanotech toolmaker and market leader in Nanoimprint Lithography (NIL), next-generation nanoimprinting tools
