Naturally, Will is our resident Chemistry expert but, a love of science and the internet makes Will the all-rounder of the team. In his spare time Will likes to play the drums, cook and brew cider.

BD Biosciences, a division of Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), has introduced a next-generation flow cytometer, BD FACSJazz Cell Sorting System, which enables researchers expecting high sample integrity to perform cellular isolation and analysis in a simple manner. This new sorter occupies 20"x20" (51x51 cm) of space in benchtop, and has high sensitivity to isolate and identify target cells.

NIST Researchers Tune Graphene Drumheads to Form Quantum Dots

National Institute of Standards and Technology(NIST) researchers have discovered that when graphene is subjected to mechanical strain, forming it into a drumhead, the effect of magnetic fields are mimicked, creating a quantum dot, which is an exotic semiconductor type having a large number of potential applications in electronic devices. The June 22, 2012 issue of Science has published the results.
