This research looks at why materials get stronger as they get smaller. At the nanolevel they find a process called mechanical annealing comes into play that reduces the number of defects or dislocations in the sample increasing strength.

This article examines a scalable inexpensive technique to grow grid patterns of nanotube arrays. The inter-grid spacing can be tailored as required giving a simple method of controlling the volume fraction of nanotubes grown on our substrates.

Selection of Application Specific Single and Multi Walled Carbon Nanotubes by In Situ Characterization of Conductive and Field Emission Properties

The conductive and field emission properties of individual single and multi-walled carbon nanotubes, grown by chemical vapor and supercritical fluid deposition techniques, have been assessed using an in-situ transmission electron microscope-scanning tunnelling microscope (TEM-STM) technique.

The Synthesis of Bamboo Structured Carbon Nanotubes on MgO Supported Bimetallic Cu-Mo Catalysts

This article shows the successful synthesis of bamboo structured carbon nanotubes (BCNTs) using the catalytic decomposition of methane over supported Cu/Mo catalysts. Analysis of the BCNTs indicate that as the Cu content in the catalyst increases so does the yields of high quality nanotubes.
