The Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) and IVAM Microtechnology Network have concluded a cooperation agreement on April 22, 2009 at MicroTechnology/HANNOVER MESSE in Hanover, Germany. Both organizations want to accelerate the information exchange between their high-tech countries with this.
KITECH supports small and medium-sized enterprises in Korea in the implementation of new high technologies. The institute maintains several research centers in Korea focusing on areas such as production technology, microsystems technology and robotics. About 300 companies and institutes working in the areas of microtechnology, nanotechnology and advanced materials are organized under the roof of IVAM.
“South Korea is worldwide leading in some high-tech areas such as flat displays, and benefits from the proximity to numerous interesting markets in Asia like China. The members of the IVAM Microtechnology Network offer high-tech products which suit the Korean focal points“, states IVAM Managing Director Dr. Uwe Kleinkes, “We believe that both sides will benefit very much from this cooperation. One advantage for the IVAM members will be the good visibility in the Korean market”, says Kleinkes.
