Strasbaugh (OTC Bulletin Board: STRB) announced today that it has received an order for two of its nFinity (Model 6DZ) prime wafer polishers. The systems are scheduled to be shipped to the customer prior to year-end 2009.
"The nFinity is the silicon industry's only fully-automated, cassette-to-cassette, wax-mount prime wafer polishing system. Customer demand for this polisher has made it one of Strasbaugh's leading products for high-volume silicon wafer manufacturing," said Mike Kirkpatrick, Strasbaugh's VP of Sales and Marketing,.
The nFinity was designed specifically for prime wafer polishing to improve wafer-to-wafer consistency and to provide flatter wafers. Single wafer, wax-mount processing improves process results and increases yield.
