Fluidigm Corporation, the inventor of integrated fluidic circuits (IFCs), has appointed Química Valaner S.A de C.V as exclusive distributor for Fluidigm's industry-leading instrumentation and chips in Mexico. Fluidigm's IFCs, instrumentation and software bring significant advantages to genetics researchers and scientists performing real-time and digital PCR, genotyping, single-cell gene expression, copy number variation and absolute quantification as well as sample prep for next generation sequencing activities.
Fluidigm's systems utilize integrated fluidic circuits that contain a microscopic matrix of microfluidic channels, valves and chambers on a rubber chip that can perform thousands of experiments at a time, in a fully flexible format that maximizes sensitivity, reduces costs and provides great reproducibility of results.
“Fluidigm is committed to bringing the accuracy and efficiency benefits of integrated fluidic circuit technology to life science researchers in Mexico,” said Gajus Worthington, Fluidigm president and chief executive officer. “Química Valaner has built a strong reputation of addressing the needs of life sciences researchers. We are happy to have them represent Fluidigm in Mexico.”
“We are thrilled to partner with Fluidigm to bring integrated fluidic circuit technology to our customers,” said Homero Hernandez, Química Valaner president. “We hope to serve as the catalyst in bringing the benefits of integrated fluidic circuit technology to Mexico's life science researchers.”
Fluidigm develops, manufactures and markets proprietary Integrated Fluidic Circuit (IFC) systems that significantly improve productivity in life science research. Fluidigm's IFCs enable the simultaneous performance of thousands of sophisticated biochemical measurements in extremely minute volumes. These “integrated circuits for biology” are made possible by miniaturizing and integrating liquid handling components on a single microfluidic device (IFC). Fluidigm's systems, consisting of instrumentation, software and single-use chips, increase throughput, decrease costs and enhance sensitivity compared to conventional laboratory systems. Fluidigm products have not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use as a diagnostic and are only available for research use.
