Nikon Instruments Introduces CL-Quant Automated Image Analysis Software for Fluorescence Analysis

Nikon Instruments, Inc. today introduced the new CL-Quant Automated Image Analysis Software featuring routines for assaying stem cell viability by label-free phase and fluorescence analysis. The software utilizes a unique set of preconfigured routines for standard assays and has a teachable interface for analysis creation and batch-processing for large time-lapse image data sets. The CL-Quant Automated Image Analysis Software is intended for use with Nikon's Biostation CT.

Biostation CT is the world's first automated cell culturing and observation system designed to maintain cells in their culturing environment while acquiring time-lapse image sequences. Biostation CT is ideal for identifying cellular health, measuring proliferation rates, determining the effectiveness of differentiation protocols and calculating stem cell pluripotency potential, while minimizing the stress on cells and enabling simultaneous multiple users with multiple experiments. With integrated robotics and auto-focus, Biostation CT can handle up to 30 well plates or flasks.
