Applied Nanotech Holdings, Inc. (OTC BB: APNT) announced that it received an ASTRUM award at MDB Capital Group’s 2010 Bright Lights Conference, the first public company conference focused exclusively on companies with disruptive and market changing intellectual property (IP).
The ASTRUM award recognizes leadership in innovation. Latin for “Star”, this award was presented to the top company in each of four separate industries with the highest Patent Application Compound Annual Growth Rate and number of patent applications on file, adjusted for the application conversion rate. Applied Nanotech was the winner in the industrial category. Candidates for the award were selected using PatentVest, MDB’s proprietary IP business intelligence database.
“Intellectual property is no longer an intangible asset class,” said Christopher Marlett, Chairman and CEO of MDB Capital Group. “MDB Capital built PatentVest to help investors easily assign a tangible value to patents, and we’ve proven that market leading IP is predictive of superior business performance. Companies like Applied Nanotech Holdings, Inc. typify the market leading IP presented at our Bright Lights Conference. We are proud to recognize its achievements with the ASTRUM Award, which recognizes Innovation leadership.”
“We are honored by our selection to receive this award,” said Doug Baker, CEO of Applied Nanotech Holdings, Inc. “This award is a strong validation of our progress and a testament to the excellent work of our scientists.”
