Eyelit Inc., a manufacturing software provider for visibility, control, and coordination of manufacturing operations for the aerospace & defense, discrete electronics, semiconductor, and photovoltaic (solar) industries, announced today that CEA-Leti, the French nanoelectronics Research & Development plant, has purchased Eyelit’s manufacturing software suite ¯including Eyelit MES, SPC, Asset Management, Quality Management and SYSTEMA’s Equipment Integration Suite¯ to support semiconductor and MEMS production in its facilities in Grenoble, France.
CEA Leti choose Eyelit’s partner, SYSTEMA GmbH, to develop and deliver solutions that enable the seamless integration of Eyelit’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES) & Statistical Processing Control (SPC) with SYSTEMA’s Equipment Integration Framework, for a highly integrated Manufacturing Execution and Automation System.
“We wanted a solution that we felt could handle our production volumes and provide a flexible data model for our facilities. We were also looking for a modular system that we could easily add features to, such as SPC and equipment management, without time consuming customizations. It was also important for us to have an experienced European integrator with the capabilities of SYSTEMA. We’ve worked with and reviewed other solutions and concluded that Eyelit was the best solution,” said Elke Chollet, MES project manager at CEA-Leti.
“Working in close cooperation with Eyelit, SYSTEMA GmbH is looking forward to providing CEA-Leti with a highly integrated manufacturing solution for their semiconductor and MEMS factories in Grenoble, France. Our business domain expertise and proven system solutions for the semiconductor and PV industry, coupled with Eyelit’s industry leading MES, will be a key differentiator for our customers’ quest in driving down manufacturing cost, without compromising quality, flexibility and speed,” said Manfred Austen, SYSTEMA's CEO.
“CEA Leti is known for technology innovation in many areas. They combine R&D as well as 24 by 7 production in 300 and 200mm front-end processing, back-end processing, MEMS processing, solar and OLED technologies. CEA Leti selected Eyelit and Systema after a detailed and rigorous selection process. With their complex and diverse processing technologies, it is further validation of the flexibility and capability of Eyelit’s solution,” stated Dan Estrada, Eyelit’s Vice-President of Sales and Business Development
