QD Vision developer of Quantum Light™ nanotechnology-based products for solid state lighting and displays, announced that Dr. Seth Coe-Sullivan has been selected as a member of the National Research Council Committee that will develop a research strategy for the environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) aspects of engineered nanomaterials.
The committee was funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to create a conceptual framework for environmental, health, and safety-related research; develop a research plan with short- and long-term research priorities; estimate resources necessary to implement this research plan; and subsequently evaluate research progress over a three year period. Dr. Coe-Sullivan is one of 20 U.S. EH&S experts on the committee, and the only representative from a nanomaterials business.
“QD Vision has been at the forefront of environmental, health and safety discourse related to nanomaterials, and it is a privilege and honor to be selected for this committee,” said Dr. Coe-Sullivan. “The committee has a critical role at the interface of science and policy, and will play a key part in steering and evaluating EH&S research related to nanomaterials, as well as to help determine near-term and long-term research goals.”
In addition to Coe-Sullivan, the committee includes representatives from several prestigious universities, research firms, environmental organizations and publicly held corporations.
