Nano-Sized Gyro Sensor Suitable for Gaming Applications

Vantaa, Finland-based VTI has expanded  its product portfolio to address the fast paced consumer electronics demand. The company has begun mass production of the CMR3000 that had been launched in Q3 2010.

The solution is a nano-sized power efficient digital 3-axis angular rate sensor that has been specifically designed for user interface and gaming applications.

According to Pekka Kostiainen, product manager at VTI, the solution besides being nano-sized and power efficient also features sensitive stability.  It measures ±2000dps with optional measurement bandwidths, making it easily  suitable for gaming applications. The wafer level package facilitates nano-size of 3.1x4.2x0.8mm3 with digital SPI and I2C interfaces.

The nano-size and placement of the IO’s allow for optional placement of the third party sensor on the same design platform. This feature benefits high volume users who need second sources.

The HW and SW support helps the device to be easily installed. An Android driver together with the library, documentation and demo applications has also been provided. The product helps users maximize sensor signal processing for customized applications.
