Vishay Intertechnology, a manufacturer of passive electronic components and discrete semiconductors, unveils a new thin film resistor with precision low temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR).
The new PLTT resistor with high-purity ceramic substrate operates at high-temperature ranging from - 55 °C to + 215 °C. The low standard TCR of the resistor is 5 ppm/°C and has tolerance rate down to 0.02 %. When compared to traditional thin film resistors, Vishay’s component offers a 100 °C operating temperature range extension. In addition, it provides a resistance range of 250 W-50 kW.
Other characteristics of the PLTT component are 0.1 ppm/V low voltage coefficient, 250 mW power rating, working voltage range of 75 V to 200 V, and extremely low noise, which is below - 35 dB. The performance rate of the new thin film resistor for 2000 hours is 500 ppm at a temperature of + 215 °C. It is designed to offer single-signal processing with low-noise that is necessary for compensating temperature drift and low offset in high-temperature settings. The settings include telecommunications, gas and oil exploration, industrial equipment, and down-hole applications.
Vishay’s precision low-TCR resistor is available in 0805 case size. The new thin film resistor is halogen-free in accordance with IEC 61249-2-21 standard and flame-resistant according to UL 94 V-0. It also meets the requirements of RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC.
