SiTime has recently launched its portfolio of MEMS oscillators for Solid State Drives (SSDs).
The products are resistant to shocks of 50,000G and vibrations of 70G. These features make the SiT9102 and SiT9107 Differential Oscillators and the SiT8103 High Performance Single-Ended Oscillator ideal for harsh environments.
According to SiTime vice president of marketing, Piyush Sevalia, the power efficient devices deliver the timing reference for notebooks and data storage in a nano-sized package. They also deliver short lead times at 3-5 weeks and high configurability.
The devices deliver clocks to interface protocols in SSDs such as SATA, SAS, Infiniband, and PCIe. Other features include 100% drop in replacement for the prevailing quartz solutions without changing original design, configurability for any frequency between 1 and 800 MHz having a precision of five decimals, spread spectrum for EMI reduction for SATA, SAS and PCIe protocols, LVCMOS, LVDS, LVPECL, HCSL and CML signalling configurable, and operational at 1.8, 2.5, 2.8 or 3.3V configurable and the industry’s normal packages.
Frequencies for these include 31.25, 50, 62.5, 75, 150 and 300 MHz for SATA and SAS protocols and 100 and 200 MHz for PCIe and Infiniband protocols.
