Ecliptek has unveiled six current mode logic (CML) MEMS clock oscillator series called EMML oscillator series that can fulfill the demands of design engineers for compact oscillators using minimum input voltage.
Ecliptek offers EMML oscillator series in a package of 3.2 x 5.0 mm or 5.0 x 7.0 mm with least lead times calculated in terms of days. The new 5.0 x 7.0 mm series, which includes the EMML13 (3.3V), EMML12 (2.5V) and EMML11 (1.8V), has the same capabilities of the compact 3.2 x 5.0 mm series, which comprises EMML23 (3.3V), EMML22 (2.5V) and EMML21 (1.8V).
The MEMS oscillators are offered with frequency stability of „b100, „b50, „b25 and „b20 ppm, and frequency range between 1.000 and 220.000 MHz. They are suitable for system reference circuit and clock distribution applications in products, including PCI Express, Fiber Channel and Gigabit Ethernet.
The new EMML oscillator products equipped with the MEMS resonator offer enhanced frequency stability and better jitter performance while reducing input voltage requirements considerably.
According to Thomas Culhane, who serves as Ecliptek¡¦s Vice President of Engineering, the company¡¦s new CML MEMS oscillators offer numerous vital design features to its customers such as low voltage differential logic output swing, 1.8V supply voltage support, ultra-speed fall and rise times and minimum power consumption. The oscillator output features an NMOS open-drain differential pair that enables the customers to setup their output termination in order to maximize signal performance and circuit load matching.
