Micralyne, Nanoshift Partner to Commercialize MEMS Devices for Mass Production

Micralyne, a MEMS foundry producing products for industrial, telecommunications and biomedical industries, and Nanoshift, a specialist in emerging technologies offering design, fabrication, process development and packaging services, have entered into a partnership.

The more integrated design and manufacturing approach of micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) allows more companies to participate in the commercialization of MEMS devices for mass production.

The Chief Executive Officer at Micralyne, Nancy Fares stated that the company’s collaboration with Nanoshift reinforces its status as a one-stop place for the prototype, design, production and packaging of various MEMS devices. With this integrated approach of the company, Nanoshift now becomes an important component of the company’s business process, from start to finish, Fares said.

Fares further said that this business model tackles the basic issues of fables companies. It reduces expenditures and risks of its customers who are willing to shift from proof-of-concept to mass production of MEMS devices irrespective of their experience in the MEMS field, she added.

The Co-founder of Nanoshift, Salah Uddin commented that the partnership between Micralyne and Nanoshift strengthens innovations by integrating the process of bringing a MEMS device to the marketplace. This integrated approach eliminates the ‘fear factor’ in transforming intellectual property through design, prototype and fabrication, Uddin said. The transfer of technologies is now an integral part of a selectively designed business process, he added. This innovative model accelerates design-to-delivery and enhances quality, he concluded.
