Tanner EDA’s full-flow HiPer Silicon design suite is now offered along with Berkley Design Inc.’s Analog FastSPICE platform. The HiPer silicon suite offers software solutions for circuit design ranging from drafting schematic layouts to physical circuit layout and verification.
The new offering is termed Tanner Analog FastSPICE (T-AFS). It offers Tanner EDA customers access to SPICE accurate simulation of analog, RF and mixed signal nanometer circuits. The AFS Platform is capable of delivering up to 5x-10x faster SPICE accurate simulation on a single core and 2x-4x increased performance upon multithreading. The T-AFS Platform offers circuit characterization solutions through silicon-accurate analysis of device noise. The performance scales near-linearly with increase in number of cores.
Existing HiPer users can purchase the T-AFS platform as an add-on. A single T-AFS license supports a capacity of 50,000 elements. Licenses can be linearly scaled with increase in number of components. Licenses can be also be linearly scaled for multiple cores at the rate of one license per core.
Ravi Subramanian, CEO, Berkeley Design Inc., spoke about the benefits to Tanner EDA customers from the joint offering. Greg Lebsack, Tanner EDA’s President, stated that the Analog FastSPICE complemented their T-SPICE simulator well and was in line with their commitment to provide the choicest in cutting-edge technology.
