On 25 July 2012, Cranfield University and The Manufacturer magazine unite for a free webinar entitled "Nanotechnology: its meaning and potential in the UK". It will be held from 14:30 to 15:30.
The editorial director of The Manufacturer, Will Stirling, considers how nanotechnologies and smart fabrics are helping the Armed Forces to reduce equipment weight and improve operational efficiency.
In response to the popularity of the article 'Small wonder can lighten the soldier's load' which focuses on personal energy generation technologies, published by the AAD Knowledge Transfer Network, they along with the support of the Nanotechnology KTN, are holding a webinar delivered by:
- Professor Rob Dorey - Professor of Nanomaterials at Cranfield University
- Will Stirling - Managing Editor at The Manufacturer
One of Professor Rob Dorey's main drivers is personal energy generation technologies, there is a big push at the moment to reduce the number of batteries that a soldier needs to carry in the field, he went on to say, "personal energy generation technologies, based on integrated nanomaterials, allow power to be generated where it is needed giving the potential to significantly extend the periods between battery recharging".
To register and receiving joining instructions, please email [email protected] detailing your full name and organisation.
The webinar is free to attend and open to all.
By attending this webinar you can expect an in-depth discussion covering technical details and the chance to hear about additional applications, as well as submitting your own questions.
