Knowles Electronics and Vectron International have forged a joint strategic partnership with SiTime. The alliance includes cash infusion by Knowles and Vectron and aims to fuel enormous growth in the MEMS timing market.
As per the terms of the partnership agreement, Knowles Electronics and Vectron Technologies will use their own sales channels to market SiTime’s MEMS timing products. The two companies will also work in conjunction with SiTimes on product developments in the pipeline.
Jeff Niew, CEO of Knowles Electronics, expressed delight at the partnership and stated that the company was looking forward to help SiTime’s MEMS timing products to achieve the same level of success as Knowles MEMS microphones.
Rick Hajec, President of Vectron International, expressed excitement in making SiTime’s innovative MEMS timing products available to their customers. Vectron has been providing timing devices to various markets such as military, space and communications over the last five decades.
Rajesh Vashist, CEO of SiTime said that their analog and silicon MEMS technology has revolutionized the timing market. The company has shipped 120 million units for use in host of applications ranging from cameras to wireless base stations. SiTime also accounts for 80%of the market share and is fuelling the timing market’s transition to silicon-based timing. Rick Hajec stated that the partnership will accelerate timing industry transformation.
