Research and Markets, the company offering market research solutions, has added the book titled “Nanoelectronics and Information Technology” to its product offering. The book is authored by Rainer Waser and is published by John Wiley and Sons.
The book is into its third edition. It comprises 47 chapters across 1000 pages. The chapters are categorized into eight sections. The premise of the book is the basic concepts and technologies instrumental in advancement of electronic devices and materials. The introduction to each topic of interest is in the form of a tutorial penned by the editor and accompanied by reference lists. The book takes on an encyclopedic format which provides the reader with sufficient background information rather than just elucidating current developments.
The first two sections focus on the fundamentals and technology. The subsequent six chapters focus on logic devices, computational concepts and architectures, memory and storage devices, interface and data transmission, imaging and sensor systems and displays. The third edition incorporates new content that covers mesoscopic electron transport and other advancements in technology. The second section on technology and analysis incorporates new chapters on manipulation of materials using scanning probe, 3D integration technology and nanoimprint lithography.
The section on data storage has been augmented with content on electrochemical and thermochemical memories and floating gates. A discussion on RFID and interconnect technology is included in the section on data transmission. A chapter on micro-mirrors is added to the section on displays.
