Latest XY Voice Coil Positioning Stage Announced by H2W

H2W introduces its latest custom XY voice coil positioning stage (VCS08-700-08/350-AB-01-MC-XY) which is guided by precision air bearings.

This minimizes the amount of friction and reduces the pitch, yaw, and roll in the system.  The stage is driven by three NCC series moving coil type linear actuators which are guided by parallel air bearing shafts.  It is operated under closed loop position control.  This system was designed specifically for an accelerometer testing application.

It includes a 1 micron resolution linear encoder on each axis and is ideal for high force low velocity ripple positioning applications.  Each voice coil has a 0.80 in [20.3 mm] stroke; generate 35 lbs [159 N] of continuous force and 105 lbs [477 N] of peak force, or a combined 70 lbs [318 N] continuous force and 210 lbs [953 N] of peak force on the bottom axis.  Voice coil positioning stages are ideal for applications that require quick, short moves with fast settling times.

Bottom Axis - Dual NCC08-34-350-2X Motors

Top Axis - Single NCC08-34-350-2X Motor

Features:

  • Non-contact air bearing (air bushing)
  • Frictionless motion
  • No wearing parts
  • Low velocity ripple
  • High force
  • High acceleration
  • 2 axis motion control
  • Custom strokes, forces, and feedback resolution configurations available

H2W Technologies is dedicated to the design and manufacture of linear and rotary motion products that are used in the motion control industry.  The complete line of linear electric motors includes: single and dual axis linear steppers, DC brush and brushless linear motors, voice coil actuators, and AC induction motors.  Also offered is a complete line of ball screw, lead screw and belt driven positioning stages.

Other motion control products include: limited angle torque motors for compact, limited angular excursion rotary servo applications, 3 phase brushless rotary servo motors with matching digital servo amplifiers and permanent magnet linear brakes for fail-safe, zero power braking for baggage handling and people moving applications as well as amusement park rides.

With over 75 years combined experience in the linear and rotary motion field, the H2W Technologies team of engineers offers the optimal solution to the most demanding motion control requirements.
