The SID Display Component of the Year Silver Honor has been awarded to Canatu in recognition of their Carbon NanoBud film and ongoing commitment to innovation in the touch display product industry.
Canatu, a manufacturer of zero reflectance, transparent conductive films and touch sensors, has received a prestigious Display Component of the Year Silver Award from Society for Information Display (SID). Award winners were announced on June 3, 2014 during Display Week 2014: The SID Annual International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition in San Diego, California.
Presented by the SID, the 2014 Display Industry Awards (DIAs) recognize innovative display products, components, and applications that hold the most promise for shaping the future of the global display industry. The DIAs are awarded each year with Gold and Silver honors in three categories: Display of the Year, Display Application of the Year, and Display Component of the Year.
“We are delighted to award Canatu Oy the 2014 Display Component of the Year Silver Honor for its Carbon NanoBud film,” said Wei Chen, SID’s Display Industry Awards Committee Chairman. “The Display Industry Awards are SID’s highest honor, presented to recognize the best display products or applications introduced to the market during the previous calendar year. The quality and competitiveness of the nominations are extraordinarily high this year due to the significant technology breakthroughs we saw in many of the products introduced to the market in 2013. On behalf of SID, we would like to commend Canatu Oy’s ongoing commitment to innovation and to helping shape the future of display performance and solutions."
“We are honoured to receive SID’s Display Component of the Year Silver Award for our CNB Film,” says Risto Vuohelainen, CEO at Canatu. “During the past years we have invested significantly in the commercialisation of our Carbon NanoBud material and have continually refined and developed the manufacturing process to meet our customers’ high production demands for the next generation of flat, flexible and formable touch screens and touch sensitive devices,” continues Vuohelainen.
Canatu’s CNB Film, made from carbon nanotubes and fullerenes, provides superior optical performance for flat, flexible, or formable touch screens, displays and touch-sensitive surfaces. CNB Film is used in capacitive touch sensors for portable devices such as mobile phones, tablets and digital cameras and in automobiles; all applications that require excellent display readability in outdoor and bright indoor environments. CNB™ Films are also applied in capacitive touch sensors for flexible or formable devices such as smart watches, flexible and foldable mobile phones and tablets and automobile center consoles.
