Minalogic, the leading French cluster dedicated to micro- and nanoelectronics and software, has made international expansion a priority for its 2013-2018 strategy. Its attendance to SEMICON West 2014 (booth 2028) is part of this dynamic.
Headquarted in Grenoble, a city ranked by Forbes in 2013 as the 5th most inventive in the world, the cluster plans to foster the international expansion of its nearly 200 company members of the Rhone-Alpes area. Minalogic also intends to reinforce its collaborations with other international clusters and contribute to the development of the "French Tech" worldwide.
In a survey by Minalogic towards its SME members in 2013, 90% of the respondents have declared that they had international expansion at the core of their strategy. In 2012, the SME members of Minalogic were already making 51% of their sales abroad, against a 26% average for all French clusters. An international presence is key for supporting and accelerating the growth of France's innovating SMEs.
"Our members are extremely willing to expand globally, with high ambitions and expectations of development in the United States, what encourages us to pursue our mentoring efforts, amongst which is supporting the SME's research for viable technical and commercial partnerships" said Isabelle Guillaume, General Manager of the cluster.
With that motto in mind, Minalogic previously drove its SMEs to the 2014 CES tradeshow. Today the focus goes to micro-nanoelectronics with the confirmed presence of the cluster with some of its members on SEMI's booth at SEMICON West.
MInalogic has become essential in the European micro-nanoelectronics landscape:
- Minalogic is one of the 5 clusters of the Silicon Europe Alliance, which was launched in 2012 in Dresden.
- Minalogic is also part of the Microtechnics alliance, also formed in 2012, together with 3 other clusters. The main goal of this partnership is to give momentum to European microtechnology.
- Moreover, Minalogic acts as an expert to the European Commission for the definition of the framework and the following implementation of its strategy regarding microelectronics: indeed, the EC has expressed its support of its ecosystem and its will to reinforce 3 ecosystems, one of which is Grenoble.
- Minalogic will actively support the 2014 edition of Semicon Europa that will take place in Grenoble for the first time on October 8-10.
